In early 2023 the board of directors began discussing the importance and value of an Executive Director role at Temple Ohev Sholom. This discussion dovetailed with the desire to onboard a third party accounting firm to handle TOS’s “behind-the-scenes” financial bookkeeping (AR, AP, Taxes, etc). In great news, both of these discussions have turned into work streams and are proceeding at pace.
In the interest of transparency, and a strong desire to have open and available dialogue with the congregation at large about such an important role as the Executive Director, we’ve created this page to both keep you informed, and allow you to easily “reach out” with ideas, questions, or a desire to take on more responsibility in this or future processes.
Timeline:
- December 2022 – Ohev Sholom’s Financial Admin takes a new position outside of TOS.

Meet the Executive Director of Temple Ohev Sholom:
After an extensive nationwide search, we are excited to announce Drew Greenwald will serve as our first Executive Director, effective June 12th.
Drew made Ohev Sholom his Jewish home when he lived in Harrisburg four years ago. Since then, he has worked in Washington, D.C., serving on the forefront of Jewish engagement and community building for the last four years in the Jewish Federation system. His passion and energy for strengthening Jewish communal life was evident early in the process and his track record of building strong relationships made him a clear choice.
Please join us at 7 P.M. June 14th at the annual meeting to welcome Drew and his wife Sarah back to Harrisburg, and back to their Jewish home — Temple Ohev Sholom. In the meantime, Drew is looking forward to meeting all of our congregants and community partners and can be reached at [email protected].
May we continue to move from strength to strength!
