Rabbi Kline will be joined by his close friend, Cantorial Soloist Steve Dropkin from Shaarai Shomayim of Lancaster. Steve will join Rabbi Kline in service leadership during this special Shabbat service, and we will have a Grand Oneg after services. Sunday August 28th – Temple Ohev Sholom Picnic at Fort Hunter. It was a great success!

Sunday September 11th – First Day of the Religious School year 2022-2023. Sign up packets are being mailed this month. Register your child(ren) online here to sign your kid up even faster. Sunday, September 18, 2022 – How to Holiday: High Holidays Edition – Join Rabbi Marc and fellow congregants for a three-part series on the Jewish holidays. How to Holiday will provide an introduction and overview of the holidays…perfect for those new to Judaism, parents of Jewish children, and anyone who wants to learn more about the holidays. How to Holiday: High Holidays Edition is the first of the three-part series. Takes place from 11am-12pm in the chapel. To register for an individual class or the series, email [email protected].

Sunday, October 9th, 2022 –

  • 9am – Build the Sukkah – Starting at 9am, Sisterhood will lead everyone (including the religious school students who start the day at 9:30, but can come early!) in building the Sukkah.
  • 9am – Book Sale – Our library overfloweth! Come pick out some wonderful books you can have at home for the new year.

Friday, October 14 5-6PM 2022 – Pizza in the Hut – For Ohev teens grades 8-12. Get to know Rabbi Marc and reconnect with other Ohev teens while enjoying pizza in the sukkah. RSVP to [email protected].

Friday, October 14 2022 – Shabbat Services, Sukkot, & Consecration for K and all new students to Ohev in any grade – 6pm – In the sanctuary and on Live Our Youtube Channel.

Sunday, October 16 2022 – Pizza in the Hut – For Religious School students and families. All Ohev religious school students and their families are invited. Enjoy lunch in the Sukkah and family games with other Ohev families. RSVP to [email protected].

Thursday Nov. 10th – Symons/Rose Book Review – 6PM RSVP Required. DINNER IS SOLD OUT! We are still welcoming folks for the lecture which begins at 8:00 pm with dessert reception to follow. No reservations necessary.  Cost is $18. Pay at the door
We will be welcoming author, Cathy Barrow who will talk about her book, Bagels, Schmears and a Nice Piece of Fish.  Contact Carol Liebman at [email protected] with any questions.  All are welcome to join Sisterhood for this fun program.  
Cathy Barrow’s book BAGELS SCHMEARS and a NICE PIECE OF FISH was just selected #1 in the top 10 cookbook’s for 2022.

Please join us on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2022, following the Ohev Sholom Temple Service at 6:00 p.m., for an Oneg Shabbat reception sponsored by Kickan Baturin and family, in loving memory of beloved husband, father, life-long Temple member and former Marine, Floyd M. Baturin.

The Oneg Shabbat reception will be held to honor all of our Temple Veterans. Plan on enjoying food sprinkled with a little patriotism and, as Floyd would say, “some good, old-fashioned conversation,” with friends.

All Veterans and members of our community are invited. We look forward to seeing you.
